Autism

We Are Here to Help.

Autism impacts how an individual functions in everyday life. It can impact their ability for social interaction, to build relationships, and is characterized by repetitive and characteristic patterns of behavior. Autism Spectrum Disorder varies by individual and can have devastating effects. But there is hope. There are treatments that can help an individual diagnosed with ASD to manage their symptoms. Scientists suspect a direct correlation between autism spectrum disorder and the following environmental factors.

-Advanced parental age at the time of conception
-Prenatal exposure to air pollution or certain pesticides
-Maternal obesity, diabetes, or immune system disorders
-Extreme prematurity or very low birth weight
-Any birth difficulty leading to periods of oxygen deprivation to the baby’s brain

Introduction to Autism Treatment in Los Angeles

When an individual is diagnosed by a doctor with autism, they have met the following criteria according to the DSM-V which is:

  • “Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts, as manifested by the following, currently or by history (examples are illustrative, not exhaustive, see text)
  • Deficits in social-emotional reciprocity, ranging, for example, from abnormal social approach and failure of normal back-and-forth conversation; to reduced sharing of interests, emotions, or affect; to failure to initiate or respond to social interactions.
  • Deficits in nonverbal communicative behaviors used for social interaction, ranging, for example, from poorly integrated verbal and nonverbal communication; to abnormalities in eye contact and body language or deficits in understanding and use of gestures; to a total lack of facial expressions and nonverbal communication.
  • Deficits in developing, maintaining, and understanding relationships, ranging, for example, from difficulties adjusting behavior to suit various social contexts; to difficulties in sharing imaginative play or in making friends; to the absence of interest in peers.
  • Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities, as manifested by at least two of the following:
    • Stereotyped or repetitive motor movements, use of objects, or speech (e.g., simple motor stereotypies, lining up toys or flipping objects, echolalia, idiosyncratic phrases).
    • Insistence on sameness, inflexible adherence to routines, or ritualized patterns or verbal nonverbal behavior (e.g., extreme distress at small changes, difficulties with transitions, rigid thinking patterns, greeting rituals, need to take the same route or eat food every day).
    • Highly restricted, fixated interests that are abnormal in intensity or focus (e.g, strong attachment to or preoccupation with unusual objects, excessively circumscribed or perseverative interest).
    • Hyper- or hyporeactivity to sensory input or unusual interests in sensory aspects of the environment (e.g., apparent indifference to pain/temperature, adverse response to specific sounds or textures, excessive smelling or touching of objects, visual fascination with lights or movement)

Autism also varies in severity and is considered a spectrum disorder since individuals can be impacted by these symptoms in a variety of ways. No two individuals’ autism will be alike, though they will meet and share the diagnosis criteria.Additionally, whole-brain volume varies between individuals with autism spectrum disorder and those with typical development. This is important to note because individuals with ASD typically have a higher whole brain volume until about 13 years of age. From there the number decreases at a lower curve than individuals with typical brain development.

Symptoms must be present in the early developmental period (but may not fully manifest until social demands exceed limited capacities or may be masked by learned strategies in later life).

This is important to note for the Total RMHs Autism treatment plan. For individuals who wish to receive support through our program, our autism treatment program for adults supports individuals through every step of the process.

What We Offer

How Total RMH Treats Autism

If you are looking for Autism treatment in Los Angeles, look no further than Total RMHs Autism Treatment program. Our high-functioning Autism treatment for adults works to support healthy brain connectivity with two different styles and can include supportive behavioral therapy with our licensed clinicians.

At Total RMH our autism treatment program works by combining the best therapeutic treatments to ensure brain health and proper functioning. Our innovative program starts off by combining EEG brain mapping and body composition analysis. Through this process, our experts can determine the best process and products for your treatment.

Typically, our Autism Treatments combine EEG-neurofeedback treatments and infusions of NAD.

Studies have shown that EEG-neurofeedback treatments can improve cognitive flexibility, decreasing rigidity, and reducing repetitive behaviors.

NAD treatments are used to balance the levels of NAD in the cells improving focus, providing clarity, and increasing synapse connections, a specific deficit often found in the brain of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Increased oxidative stress, prevalent in individuals with autism spectrum disorder, may actually be caused by impaired energy metabolism. This is an imbalance of the NAD+ and NADH in cells. When an individual has a NAD infusion, their body is able to better regulate the NAD within. With a balanced system, individuals may experience fewer gastrointestinal disturbances, sleep-wake disorders, and behavior abnormalities.

Following the initial EEG Brain Map and determination of metabolic body combination, individuals typically go through 4-6 daily infusions of NAD and approximately 20 EEG-neurofeedback treatments. During this process, the individual’s brain is given a chance to heal and develop stronger more reliable connections.

After this approximately 2-week process is complete, the clients will undergo a brain map and body composition analysis. Based on this evaluation, individuals may continue EEG-neurofeedback treatments or need maintenance infusions of NAD based on clinical improvements noted throughout the process.

The process of continuous brain-mapping and EEG-neurofeedback can continue until an individual achieves the maximum benefits from the process. This process typically takes about a year to complete.

But is this process really worth it? Can Total RMHs adult autism treatment program really help clients?

The Benefits of Our Autism Treatment in Los Angeles

At our autism treatment in Los Angeles, we are re-envisioning the process. Through our EEG-neurofeedback treatments in combination with NAD infusions, individuals who go through our autism program can feel the positive effects of both brain-altering therapeutic treatments.

Contraindicated by the FDA, “Chelation Therapies,” Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Detoxifying Clay Baths, and other products like raw camel milk, MMS, and essential oils are not valid ways to treat autism.

But our way works differently.

By stimulating the electrical connections in the brain with EEG and providing a healthy NAD and vitamin infusion, our clients can reap the benefits of both treatments.

Our NAD infusions provide the body nutrients and essential vitamins necessary for healing and repair. Through this process, the body can not only balance the NAD levels found in the brain cells, but it can provide clarity, increased focus, and even reduce the occurrence of related behaviors.

Utilizing EEG-neurofeedback individuals can experience less aggressive behaviors, more cooperation, and better communication. Studies also indicate an increase in sensory-motor skills and attention span.

This combination of treatments can provide relief for individuals struggling to manage autism spectrum disorder. While there is no cure, there can be relief from the overwhelming symptoms of autism spectrum disorder.
